Tea for Dede

Three elections have been making headlines as of late. Two for their potential to be seen as a referendum on the agenda of congressional Democrats and Barack Obama, one as a referendum on the modus operandi of the GOP political establishment.

New Jersey's gubernatorial race is currently in a dead heat. Today, President Obama made "robo calls" for Democrat Jon Corzine. In Virginia, GOP candidate Bob McDonnell is poised for a potential land side, double digit win.

The third race is that of New York's 23rd congressional district. This weekend, liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava dropped out of the race. As the Wall Street Journal notes, this is a potential opportunity for the GOP to get back to basics by supporting more candidates like tea party backed, Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman.

This is of course a major victory for the conservative grassroots. Whether or not Hoffman wins tomorrow, a signal has been sent loud and clear to liberal Republicans and the GOP establishment: the conservative grassroots is a force to be reckoned with.
