Last night, Chris Matthews admitted that the tea party movement is hardly right-wing and in fact more center-right or centrist. That's accurate and fair. Unfortunately, Mr. Matthews insisted on referring to the movement as "tea baggers" - a sexual slur. What's more, Matthews went on to play the race card, stating "they're all white. All of them, every single one of them is white." What about Kenneth Gladney, a black man slurred with the "n" word and beaten at a tea party protest by SEIU anti-tea party thugs? Newsbusters coverage here.
David Brooks admitted in the New York Times that the tea party movement is powerful...also fair and accurate. He just couldn't help making this a backhanded compliment by juxtaposing the movement with the informed, educated class of the country to which he presumably belongs...Great piece by Michelle Malkin here.
